Full Description

An assemblage of late Roman material was recovered in January 2014, during the archaeological monitoring of redevelopment at 26-28 Newport, Lincoln. The assemblage was recovered from a buried soil layer lying near to the course of Ermine Street, and comprised 15 sherds of 4th century grey ware pottery and 11 fragments of animal bone. A further two sherds of unstratified 4th century grey ware pottery were also recovered from the site. {1}{2}
