A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during the groundworks for the construction of a new rear extension to the Newport Guest House, at 26-28 Newport, Lincoln. Whilst no archaeological features were encountered, a quantity of 4th century Roman pottery and animal bone fragments were recovered from a buried soil layer, along with two redeposited fragments of medieval pottery. {1}{2}
