Full Description
A number of ditch-like magnetic anomalies were identified here in July 2014, during a magnetometry survey conducted on land to the west of the A15, Burton by Lincoln. The anomalies appeared to define a pair of incomplete sub-rectangular enclosures of an uncertain date. A large pit-like anomaly was also recorded within the easternmost enclosure. {1}
Subsequent trial trenching at this location in Ocotber 2014 confirmed the presence of the enclosures. A single sherd of pottery of Romano-British date was recovered from the fill of an enclosure ditch. {2}{3}
