Full Description

A rough limestone rubble wall was revealed in January 2015, during the archaeological monitoring of the renovation of Birdcage Cottage, 1 St Mary's Passage, Stamford. The wall was overlain by layers of post-medieval made ground, and was thought to represent either building foundations or a boundary wall of possible medieval or post-medieval date, although no dating evidence was recovered. {1}{2}
