Description
A scheme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during the groundworks for the renovation of Birdcage Cottage, 1 St Mary's Passage, Stamford. The monitoring recorded a rough limestone rubble wall, overlain by layers of post-medieval made ground. The wall was thought to represent either building foundations or a boundary wall of possible medieval or post-medieval date, although no dating evidence was recovered. {1}{2}
