Full Description
Two large, undated features were revealed in March 2012, around nos. 66 and 68 Ermine Street, during the monitoring of groundworks for the installation of a new electrical cable at Ancaster. The features were uncovered under layers of modern made-ground, with both cutting into natural geological layers, although the full extent of neither feature was revealed. It was thought that the features could represent the remains of former ditches or pits, though no dateable material was recovered from either feature. {1}{2}
