Description

A total of 37 trial trenches were opened on land adjacent to Bonemill Lane prior to development. Most trenches contained post-medieval or modern drainage ditches, however, two trenches contained earlier remains consisting of Iron Age and Roman features. {1}{2} An illustration was made of the unusual Roman pottery vessel foot that was recovered in the 1999 excavation. {3}
