Description

Archaeological excavation was carried out during the excavation of a new pond. Peat deposits containing tree trunks were encountered, and beneath these was a prehistoric land surface. Nearly 800 pieces of worked flint, nearly all of Mesolithic date, were recovered from this surface. This seems to represent the site of later Mesolithic short term occupation e.g. a hunting camp. {1}{2}
