Seven trial trenches were excavated. Evidence of post medieval quarrying was encountered, which appeared to have destroyed any earlier deposits on most of the site. Residual Iron Age and Roman pottery was recovered as well as three worked flints, also residual, but no features earlier than late post-medieval were observed. {1}
