Description

A watching brief was carried out during groundworks associated with the construction of a new tennis court and a new hockey pitch in the school grounds. An iron smelting site of probable late Saxon-Saxo-Norman date was uncovered, however no evidence relating to the nunnery known to have existed on this site was encountered. {1}{2}
