Description

Fieldwalking was undertaken at this site prior to proposed mineral extraction. A small concentration of worked flints was found as well as two fragments of Roman tile. The tile was found in two separate locations and is probably related to later manuring activity rather than Roman activity on the site. A general background scatter of late post medieval material was also noted. [Note: only Fields 1-3 were actually walked as Fields 4-6 were under crop and unsuitable for walking.] {1}
