Description

Following the discovery of various prehistoric features during archaeological evaluation (geophysical survey and trial trenching), a full excavation was carried out in two stages prior to mineral extraction at the site. The removal of topsoil before mineral extraction was also monitored, although no archaeological features were revealed during this activity. The excavation revealed a range of Iron Age features as well as a small Neolithic/Bronze Age presence. {1}
