Description
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the machine excavation of foundation trenches for a new residential building and associated garage on an area of land to the east of Chestnut Avenue, Bucknall. The groundworks produced evidence of late post-medieval to early modern farm buildings on the site and an associated slurry pit. No earlier features or finds were encountered {1} {2}
