Description

A magnetometry survey was undertaken (as part of an overall desk top assessment) on land at Kirton House, Kirton to identify possible archaeological remains in the area to help determine the archaeological implications of proposed development at the site. Approximately 1.8ha was surveyed using a Bartington Grad601-2 fluxgate gradiometer. Survey indicated that the area was perhaps formerly sub-divided into narrow strips as indicated by four north to south ditch-like anomalies. Several pit-like magnetic responses were also identified {1} {2}
