A systematic magnetometry survey was undertaken on c.1ha of land to the north of Valley Lane, Long Bennington. The detailed survey was done after a prior scanning survey (LI4359) had identified areas of high magnetic response. Five areas were surveyed in details to test both the presence and absence of archaeology. Areas 1 and 2 were positioned to test the northern and southern limits of the features detected during the scanning survey. Area 3 was positioned to evaluate the area where both aerial photographs and scanning indicated the most significant archaeology.
