Description

An archaeological evaluation on land at 18 - 19 New Road, Spalding, was undertaken (in advance of a commercial planning application) because the area was regarded as potentially archaeologically sensitive. The aim of the evaluation was to gather sufficient information for the archaeological curator to formulate a policy for the management of the archaeological resources present on the site. The work involved the excavation and recording of three trial trenches; two 5m long by 3m wide trenches and a single 2m long by 1.5m wide trench {1} {2}
