A magnetic gradiometer survey was conducted to inform proposed development on land at Caenby Corner. Magnetic disturbance caused by modern dumping was present across much of the site, although two possible archaeological features were noted as magnetic anomalies in the south-eastern corner of the site. {1} Subsequent trial trenching in this area resolved one of the magnetic anomalies as being a dump of clearly modern material, but confirmed the other anomaly as being a thin deposit of burnt material of unknown though likely archaeological origin (see ELI4393).
