An archaeological watching brief was conducted during the groundworks phase of construction for new housing on land adjacent to Hillcrest, Main Road, Toynton All Saints. Two ditches of probable medieval date were recorded, and redeposited sherds of medieval and early post-medieval pottery were found in the overlying layers. A single redeposited sherd of likely Roman date was also recovered. {1}{2}
