A watching brief was carried out prior to the construction of a reservoir. The watching brief concentrated on an area where several isolated anomalies had been located by a previous geophysical survey. The anomalies were identified as discrete positive readings over a backfilled drainage ditch and a series of post-medieval or recent land drains. No archaological features were present, but Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery was recovered from topsoil. {1}{2}
