Description

Trial trenching was carried out as part of the Fenland Management Project. Five trenches were excavated; Trench 2 measured 30m by 6m, and three smaller inspection trenches were cut from the south, east and north sides of Trench 2. Trench 5 was placed over the eastern side of the three-sided enclosure ditch seen on APs. The main trench was slightly extended at its eastern end to fully expose a rectangular structure. A phosphate survey was carried out over this possible building and extended over two ditches in the main trench which were thought to delimit a possible droveway.{1}
