Description
In 1957 the writer conducted a trial excavation of two weeks duration on behalf of the Ministry of Public Building and Works to ascertain the extent of the damage caused by the levelling of the site and subsequent ploughing and to assess the possible value of further excavation, in particular on that part of the site occupied by the deserted house platforms north of the church. {1}
