Description
An archaeological watching brief was conducted during the groundworks associated with the installation of a disabled toilet at St Nicholas' Church, Newport. The monitoring recorded a limestone rubble layer, thought to represent the initial construction layer for the church, with fragments of 18th and 19th century pottery being recovered from the layer directly underneath. {1}{2}
