A watching brief was undertaken during the groundworks for the replacement of a watermain between Welton and Dunholme. Evidence of a late Iron Age farmstead was identified, with 8 ditches being recorded and late Iron Age pottery being recovered. A single sherd of Romano-British pottery was also recovered, suggesting the site continued in use after the Roman conquest. {1}{2}
