Description

An archaeological excavation was conducted on land off South Road, Bourne, to preserve by record archaeological features identified during a previous programme of trial trenching (ELI11172). Recorded features included possible Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age pits containing burnt material and a single sherd of Grooved Ware (c.2900-2000 BC). The remains of a Roman field system were also recorded, along with an undated large pit-like feature that may have related to the adjacent stretch of the Roman Car Dyke. {1}{2}
