Description

A site visit was conducted at Priory Cottage, Main Street, Brampton, as part of a statement of significance and heritage impact assessment commissioned to inform a planning application for alterations to the building. Priory Cottage was considered to have high historical and communal value, as well as moderate-high aesthetic value. The proposed alterations were considered to be sympathetic and have minimal impact on the fabric and character of the building, including the removal of small quantities of lime-ash flooring in the attic space. The restoration of the second floor to its former use as a living space was also noted as a positive impact. {1}
