Description

Prior to a scheme of silt removal from the moat at Bolingbroke Castle a combined earthwork survey and watching brief was undertaken in September and October 2009. The aim of the scheme was to ensure that no medieval deposits were removed. Boreholes were used to assess the depths of the deposits, the deposits were removed under supervision, and following an earthwork survey the removed silt was laid in the rout yard. {1}{2}
