Description

A Heritage Impact Assessment was undertaken at Ivy House Farm, Bag Enderby, to inform the proposed construction of a modern extension. The cottage and surrounding outbuildings, as well as the setting, which included the church and the lane leading to the site, were photographed and recorded. A description of the farmhouse is given, as well as the history of both the cottage and outbuildings. The report noted that the 1839 tithe map depicted several additional outbuildings present to the west and south of the cottage, which predate the construction of the extant complex of buildings. Additional outbuildings were identified to the west and east, which appeared to have been demolished by the late 19th or early 20th century. {1} This survey followed an earlier Heritage Impact Assessment focussed on the outbuildings to the north of the thatched cottage (see ELI14674).
