A geophysical survey was conducted on land off Linwood Road, south of Market Rasen, to inform a proposed residential development. The survey recorded features thought to represent pottery production, including a kiln and possible resource extraction along with an area of high magnetic noise which may represent industrial activity. {1} Subsequent trial trenching (see ELI14259) revealed two distinct Roman industrial sites: a group of waste pits containing metalworking debris including furnace and tap slag, and an area of clay extraction and a tile kiln.
