Four trial trenches were excavated to inform the proposed construction of a residential development on land off Fen Road, Holbeach. A number of likely 12th century features were identified, including a boundary ditch, a shallow gulley and a pit. Two undated possible plough furrows were also identified. Finds including pottery and animal bone were recovered from the pit and two of the linear features. {1}{2}
