Description

A historic building survey was undertaken prior to the demolition of buildings at Sandy Nook, Well Street, Bishop Norton. The surveyed buildings comprised an L-shaped range of former farm buildings, consisting of a roughly north-south aligned two storey barn and east-west aligned single storey outbuildings. Both buildings were constructed of coursed limestone with red brick quoins and areas of red brick repairs, under pitched gabled pantile roofs. The two storey barn appears to have undergone several phases of alteration and repair, and it is possible that the roof height at the southern end of the range was raised at some point. {1}{2}
