Description

Eleven trial trenches were excavated to inform proposed residential development on land to the north of Brigg Road, Caistor. Five features of archaeological interest were recorded, including possible drainage channels and a pair of possible parallel hedgerow boundares. A sherd of likely intrusive roman greyware pottery was recovered from one of the ditches, and several unstratified sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from the top- and subsoil. {1}{2}
