Description

A programme of historic building recording of a two storey barn at Brook Cottage Farmstead was conducted prior to its proposed change of use to residential. The building is likely to be 19th century in origin, and is seen on the 1887 Ordnance Survey map. A photographic survey was undertaken as part of the recording. The barn building is two storeys, and adjoins two calf pens and a stable block. Photographs show that the barn is of red brick in English Garden Wall bond with a pantile roof, with some modern alterations including windows, which possibly replace former vents. {1}
