Description
A heritage statement was produced after a site visit and historical research into Fairlea, Stainton by Langworth, conducted to inform the site's proposed redevelopment. The building comprises a pair of mid 19th century adjoining cottages, located off the village green at Church Lane. They were built as accommodation for agricultural labourers working on the Langton Estate, which was owned by the Earl of Scarbrough. Historic mapping evidence indicates the building was constructed at some point between 1837 and 1885. {1}
