An earth resistance survey was conducted as part of a community archaeological investigation of a field in the south of Ancaster, known as Cemetery Field. Several areas of ephemeral geophysical anomalies were identified, possibly representing potential archaeological remains of unknown origin or function. {1} Subsequent trial trenching in this area resolved all of the investigated anomalies as near-surface geological variation, with no archaeological features identified (see ELI12869).
