Description

A programme of historic building recording was conducted to inform proposed renovations and extensions to Roma Cottage, at Mill Lane, Willoughby. The building dates from the early 18th century, when it was constructed as a single-storey structure that likely adjoined a former malt house. Considerable alterations and extensions were made throughout its life, notably in the 19th century when the structure was raised to two-storeys, and in the 20th century, when large, single-storey timber extensions were added. {1}
