Description

A survey was conducted of the private water supply system to Gunby Hall as part of a wider community investigation of the historic environment of the Gunby estate. The water system was thought to have been installed sometime between 1860 and 1880, and initially utilised a hydraulic ram pump. Alterations in the 1900s and 1930s added a wind pump and petrol driven pump to increase the supply and reliability of water to the Hall, before mains water supply made the system redundant in the late 1930s. {1}{2}
