Description

Two test pits and one trial trench were excavated along part of the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. A deposit of closely-packed limestone fragments was recorded in one of the test pits, possibly representing the remains of a robbed out wall. A fragment of medieval tile was recovered from this deposit, indicating its likely association with the site of a medieval grange. {1}{2}
