Description

Eleven test pits and three trial trenches were excavated to inform the proposed construction of a new hotel on land east of Broadgate, Lincoln. A gradually accumulated medieval soil layer was encountered at a depth of 2m below the current ground level across most of the site. Surmounting this deposit were deep layers of late post-medieval and modern made ground and demolition debris. {1}{2}
