Description

A watching brief was conducted during the groundworks for new residential development on land at Orchard Close, Helpringham. Remains of medieval ridge and furrow and associated ditches and a post hole were recorded, along with later post-medieval activity. A small quantity of late medieval and early post-medieval pottery and animal bone was recovered, along with a single 8th or 9th century Saxon pottery sherd. {1}{2}
