Description

Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out during the excavation of a cable trench, removal of overhead cable poles and reinstatement of earthworks in an area of surviving ridge and furrow earthworks. A sequence of natural, subsoil and topsoil deposits were revealed. The subsoil was of varying thickness directly corresponding with the ridge and furrow. A single sherd of unusual Romano-British pottery and some late post medieval pottery were recovered from the topsoil. {1}{2}
