Description
BARDNEY CHURCH LANE TF 16 NW (south side) 6/10 Peter Hancock's Hospital 30.11.66 G.V. II 4 almshouses, now cottages. 1712, C19, C20. Red brick with ashlar dressings. Steeply pitched, hipped, plain tile roof with 6 ridge stacks. 2 storey, 11 bay front with 3 central bays projecting with gable and C19 wooden barge boards. Ashlar dressed plinth, ashlar first floor band and quoins. 4 doorways in 2nd, 5th, 7th and 10th bays from left, all with segmental heads, overlights and panelled doors. Central window, flanked by doorways, with 2 windows beyond on each side with single doorways and another window beyond on each side. 6 windows above. All the windows with segmental heads and C20 wooden cross-mullion casements. Ashlar plaque above central window inscribed "Impensis Petri Hancock Armiger A.D. MDCCXII". Listing NGR: TF1203269399
