Description
TF 18 NE SIXHILLS LEGSBY ROAD 3/30 The Grange 1.11.66 II Farmhouse. C17 with addition and refronting of 1747 with C20 addition. Coursed greenstone rubble with deeper squared courses, ashlar quoins and brick dressings, slate roofs with stone coped gables, 3 brick stacks, one gable, one ridge and one wall. L- plan. 2 storey with garret, 3 bay front having central C20 glazed double doors covered by large C20 porch, flanked by single glazing bar sashes. To first floor 3 similar windows. All windows have segmental brick heads. Over the door is a stone inscribed 'G H 1747' with 3 C19 medieval style heads. To the right hand corner is a partially defaced 1747 datestone re-used as a quoin. To right hand side wall is a projecting C14 corbel head with short hair and band, features defaced. Interior has one deeply moulded beam, and a late C17 turned baluster staircase with moulded handrail and knopped newel. Listing NGR: TF1632187176
