Description

TF 1089-1189 UNION STREET 1/46 Nos 14, 16 and 18 II 1897. Wm Mortimer & Son (Lincoln) Shops. Brick with stone dressings and slate roof. Nos 14 and 16 retain most of their original shopfronts. Above No 14 has 6 light transom and mullioned window between brick pilasters topped with entablature and strapwork gable and stone finials. No 16 has 6 windows. 2 central ones have rounded heads with stone keystones, flanked by stone ornamental shafts which break through the entablature above into the Dutch gable. This contains a wide niche containing store Beehive. Remaining 4 windows similar though with segmental heads, above a stone balustrade crowning the entablature. No 18 has 2 sash windows below with segmental heads and stone keystones with continuous stringcourse over. Single sash above with alternating brick and stone voussoirs and small round headed gable with stone coping. Listing NGR: TF1074489052
