Description

TA 10 NW GREAT LIMBER HIGH STREET (South side) 5/112 The New Inn 1-11-66 G.V. II Public house, c1840. Yellow brick with ashlar dressings, hipped slate roofs, with 4 wall stacks. A symmetrical design of 5 parts, consisting of a central block of 2 storeys linked by single storey blocks to flanking lower 2 storey wings; the 3 two storey blocks have 3 bay fronts and first floor bands. Central glazed door with low traceried fanlight, plain surround and 3 paned vertical sidelights. Flanked by large tripartite glazing bar sashes. On the first floor a central glazing bar sash flanked by single tripartite windows. To the right of the main block, the link contains a single glazing bar window set in a blank rubbed brick archway. The wing beyond has 3 glazing bar sashes and on the first floor 3 smaller similar windows. To the left of the main block, the link has a blank arch with a small square glazing bar sash over. The left hand wing has 3 glazing bar sashes with above 2 similar windows flanking a central blocked opening. All windows have splayed ashlar lintels. Listing NGR: TA1328608660
