Description
1. 1671 AUSTIN STREET (South Side) No 4 TF 0206 1/20 22.5.54. II GV 2. Mid C18. 3 storeys in coursed rubble. No windows to street except a large bowed oriel rising from the 1st floor and extending up into a dormer, 3 double-hung sash windows with glazing bars on 2 storeys. This is in stucco, supported on a moulded stucco bracket over the entrance door. 4 semi-circular stone steps to C19 studded door in stone architrave. 2 foot scrapers to this door and one to plain door to the left. Garden Front: has 3 storeys with 2 bows through all storeys, the 2 upper ranges of windows having 'Gothic' glazing bars in Venetian frames with hung sashes. Central round-headed window under moulded hood. 2 cambered dormers in mansard roof of stone slates. Plain stone eaves cornice. Attractive projecting porch with slender fluted columns, approached by a double flight of moulded stone steps with elegant railings in wrought iron. Nos 2, 4 & 6 form a group.
