BELTON & MANTHORPE SK9239 BELTON PARK, Belton 1315-0/8/101 (North side) Pair of statues on North Terrace at Belton House GV II Pair of statues. Early C18. Marble. Life size figures on moulded square bases. Female figure to west, with a posy, male figure to right with a spade. Pevsner tentatively attributes these figures to C G Cibber, who carved a nearby sundial (qv) for Sir John Brownlow in the late C17. Marsden & Barber describe them as Italian, C18. This building appears within Belton Park which is on the Gardens Register at grade I.
