Description
BELTON & MANTHORPE SK9239 BELTON PARK, Belton 1315-0/8/83 (East side) 21/09/79 Nursery garden walls north and east of North Lodge (Formerly Listed as: BELTON PARK (East side) Approx 30m of garden walls to N, W, N & E from Belton House to St Peter's....) GV II Nursery garden walls. Early C18, with early C19 alterations. Ashlar, coursed squared stone and brick, with ashlar dressings. Slab coping. Approx 2.5m high and 250m long. Rounded corner at junction with Main Street has a segment arched gateway with keystone and double board doors, flanked by square piers with shallow pyramidal caps. Length bordering Main Street as far as the churchyard wall, has a central gateway with C19 wooden gates flanked by square piers with moulded caps and ball finials. On the inner face, a round headed canopied niche at each end. Listing NGR: SK9293239553
