Description
HELPRINGHAM HIGHGATE TF 1240-1340 (west side) 13/74 The Old Mill II Tower mill. 1864. Tapering brick tower, red brick bitumen coated, dogtooth eaves course. 3 storeys. Ground floor doorway with above an ashlar datestone inscribed J.B. for Boreham, the builder. To each floor are 2 glazing bar casements. All openings have segmental brick heads and ashlar cills. Wooden cap of low conical form, canvas covered. Most of the original gear was removed in the 1930's, but some bins, sack hoists and other fittings remain. Listing NGR: TF1352140492
