Description
ROWSTON MAIN STREET TF 05 NE (north side) 5/30 The Old School GV II School. 1052. Red brick with ashlar dressings. Slate roof with ashlar coped gables and kneelers. Single storey, 2 bays. Central projecting lateral stack with ashlar set-offs, topped by the remains of a circular brick stack, with small ashlar plaque inscribed 'National Schools 1852'. Flanked by single 3-light wooden case- ments in deeply recessed and chamfered brick surrounds with shallow pointed heads. Beyond at either end, single projecting porches with ashlar coped gables with kneelers, and single plank doors also in deeply recessed and chamfered brick surrounds with shallow pointed heads.
