Description
CORBY GLEN MARKET PLACE SK 9825-9925 Market Cross 12/103 (formerly listed as 6.5.52 Village Cross) G.V. II Market cross. C14 with C18 and C20 alterations. Ashlar with C20 blue brick base. Tall C14 octagonal base with 4 steps leading to C18 square shaft with shallow stopped chamfers surmounted by moulded cornice and ball finial. A weekly Thursday market was granted in 1238 but had ended by the beginning of the C20. Source: Steel 1979. A Scheduled Ancient Monument No. 176. Listing NGR: SK9990725008
